 We welcome Tim Brooks!
About Tim
Tim has been a patron and a member of the JCPF for many years and we know him as a highly conscientious and deeply committed psychic. We are delighted he has the time to provide Tarot course services to the JCPF. Tim teaches the Rider Waite Pack as this deck is widely recognised as teaching standard enabling pupils to move to other packs of their choice as and when thereafter. Interest in learning Tarot is high and we always have a list of pupils wanting to start.
Tim is a local full-time professional Tarot Reader based in Emsworth. He is a Moderator for TABI (Tarot Association of the British Isles) and a Tarot Professionals ACE (Accredited & Certified Excellence). He has developed psychically over many years including a number of mediumistic development courses with the JCPF.
During 20 years of study and 15 years as a professional reader Tim continues to explore and learn of the wondrous paths of knowledge and understanding revealed by the Tarot.
More about your teacher Tim Brooks
We are delighted he is continuing to provide Tarot course services to the JCPF in 2013. He teaches the Rider Waite Pack as this deck is widely recognised as teaching standard enabling pupils to move to other packs of their choice as and when thereafter. Interest in learning Tarot is high and some of last years pupils are now taking Master Classes!
The Tarot programme uses The Rider Tarot Deck and is a combination of tutor based instruction with handouts and practical exercises with some fun homework to be conducted between sessions. Students are encouraged to practice and do their own exploring of this fascinating subject between sessions to get the most out of it. No previous knowledge of the Tarot is required, although an interest and an inquisitive mind is a definite advantage. New decks will be available at discount to students on the first night.
Tim is also prepared to provide one-to-one coaching sessions to students on course or between courses. Please email newsdesk@jcpf.co.uk or ring Tony (the JCPF General Secretary) 02392693169 if you are interested

 The Tarot Beginners Course
NEXT EVENING COURSE IS IN PLAN TO START MONDAY 18th February 2013 at the Buckland Community Centre. 8 Week 'Tarot for Beginners & Improvers' Course
Venue: North End, Portsmouth. Teacher: Tim Brooks
Note: another course will start later in the year Go on admit it! The ancient Tarot has a fascination to us all and hard to resist. Many famous diviners have used the Tarot to predict events as have fairground gypsies over centuries. Now you can learn it both to help yourself and astonish your friends -and maybe become a professional yourself! Our teacher Tim Brooks teaches the Rider Waite pack, a highly respected set used widely by professional tarot readers. This course literally starts at the beginning as to what a Tarot pack is, what divination is all about and the origins of the Tarot. Then week by week we go through the meanings of all 78 cards and from the second week you will start doing readings for yourself, as a class and in pairs for other students. You will learn how to do 3 card spreads and the classic 10 card Celtic Cross spread. There are comprehensive handouts on each of the cards and guides for things like basic numerology and how to phrase a question. Each week there is a small amount of fun homework to help you get more acquainted with your cards. The choice is yours!

 The Tarot Intermediate Course
10 Week 'Intermediate Tarot' Course
Venue: North End, Portsmouth. Teacher: Tim Brooks
Starts Monday 13th May 2013 at 7.15 pm Note: another course will start later in the year
Now that you have completed the Tarot Beginners course -next is to put the polish on what you know and deepen that understanding. This 10 week course will be conducted on the same lines to the Beginners & Improvers course but will be concentrating on the reverse meanings and interpretations of the cards. There are a whole set of new and expanded spreads to learn and practice, namely "The A to B spread"; an expanded Celtic Cross using a summary card; "Shadow spreads" to look into past lives and a huge 34 card "12 month forecast spread" which you won't find in any books to our knowledge. The course takes you deeper into the personal self development areas of Tarot and links in with the Hermetic Qabalah and the Astrological symbolism hidden in each card. Upon conclusion of this course you will feel confident in reading for yourself and the general public at a much deeper level and with a variety of spreads to choose from. Tim is also prepared to provide one-to-one coaching sessions to students on course or between courses. Email or ring him if you are interested. Are you eligible to enrol on this course? The Tarot Advanced Course!
This course is specifically for those who having completed the Beginners and Intermediate courses wish to know how to become a professional Tarot Reader. Unlike the previous two courses this doesn't teach you anything else about reading the cards, but is designed to help you be aware of the opportunities, considerations and hopefully avoiding the pitfalls when going professional. There are sections on creating your personal image; advertising; venues; events; parties; legal; record keeping; costs and pricing; websites; equipment and handy hints. Signing up to this course you not only get the benefit of the 15 years professional experience that Tim brings to you, but you also get the most up to date knowledge of things like the law and the repeal of the Fraudulent Mediums Act and what that means to you as a professional reader. Course will be run as and when there are enough interested budding professionals! Please email newsdesk@jcpf.co.uk or ring Carole (the JCPF Secretary) 02392386528 if you are interested.
Course fees are advised on application
Tim is also prepared to provide one-to-one coaching sessions to students on course or between courses. Please email newsdesk@jcpf.co.uk or ring Tony the JCPF General Secretary on 02392693169 if you are interested.
